Distance gradient in prenatal dental development.

چکیده
In postnatal dental development, and in crown size itself, there is a demonstrable "distance gradient" so that teeth closer together within a jaw quadrant show higher correlations. Thus, adjacent teeth exhibit systematically higher commonality in both tooth formation and crown size than more remote teeth in the same quadrant, despite absolute differences in formation (calcification, root elongation, and movement) and in crown size (specifically the mesiodistal crown diameter) (S. M. GARN, A. B. LEWIS, and R. S. KEREWSKY, J Dent Res 44: 350-354, 1965 and 46:1481, 1967; S. M. GARN, C. G. ROHMANN, T. BLUMENTHAL, and F. N. SILVERMAN, Amer J Phys Anthrop 27:75-82, 1967). We applied this analytic model to intraindividual correlations of tooth stage in the 20 deciduous teeth of 52 male and female embryos in the 14 to 58 mm size range; all embryos

Mesiodistal gradient of mandibular precedence in the developing dentition.
In postnatal dental development, there are clear-cut mandibular-maxillary eruption precedences; usually the mandibular incisors tend to precede their maxillary opponents. There is also a mesiodistal gradient of mandibularmaxillary precedence such that maxillary precedence becomes both relatively and absolutely more common in the posterior teeth (H. IsRAEL, A. DAHLBERG, S. M. GARN, and R. KEREWS...

متن کاملAdjacency effects in developmental correlations among tooth organs in human fetuses.
This study explores whether the "distance gradient" model shown for embryonic development and postnatal tooth growth is also characteristic of the fetal period. Histologic data and ratings from 26 human fetuses show that, unlike the embryonic and postnatal periods, changes occurring in two tooth germs are significantly alike, regardless of the number of intervening teeth.
متن کاملEvaluation of land use change, modeling and prediction of areas susceptible to physical development of the city (Case Study: Nurabad Mamasani Town)
Natural parameters are one of the main determinants of the physical development of cities and settlements. In a mountainous area, the effects of these factors have become a barrier to development and can have natural hazards. In this research, it is tried to identify the optimal directions of physical development of the city of Nurabad as a relatively high region by identifying its effective fa...
متن کاملThe lithium effect on learning and memory deficits and hippocampal level of BDNF in prenatal seizure kindled rats
Background & Objective: Prenatal seizures cause neuronal damage in the limbic area of fetal brain leading to learning deficits and cognitive impairment in newborns. This study examined the effect of prenatal tonic-clonic seizure and lithium chloride (LiCl) therapy on the learning and memory of rat’s pups. Materials & Methods: Pregnant Wistar rats were kindled by (i.p) injections of 40 mg/kg/BW ...
